What Does A Fitness Trainer do?
Fitness Trainers lead , instruct, and motivate individuals or groups in exercise activities, including cardiovascular exercise, strength training, and stretching. They may keep records of their clients' exercise sessions to monitor the clients' progress toward physical fitness. They also may advise their clients on how to modify their lifestyles outside the gym to achieve their fitness goals.
What kind of training will I receive?
The Fitness Trainer program prepares students for an entry-level position in the fitness industry as a Certified Fitness Trainer. The Program provides knowledge of the structures and functions of the body through general study of anatomy and physiology. Additionally, students will be trained in CPR and First Aid, including burns, acute illness and other such emergencies. Students will focus on client consultations and integrated fitness assessments, use assessment results to design fitness programs to achieve client goals, demonstrate exercises with correct posture, modify exercises to adjust to clients needs, alter clients muscular imbalances and diminish pain with corrective exercise techniques. Students will learn how to acquire and retain clientele with experience in business and sales, use motivational techniques to adapt to different client objections, understand anatomy and physiology to improve movement in the kinetic chain, and use nutritional guidelines to direct clients towards healthy eating habits.
